Moorland Seedlings

Moorland Saailinge CC was founded in 1997 by brothers Rian and Arno Moore. Rian Moore was at the time a nursery manager of a well-known wholesale nursery in Bloemfontein and Arno an agricultural scientist who had just been appointed General Manager of the National Wool Growers Association (NWGA) of South Africa. A third brother, Bassie Moore, also later joined Moorland Seedlings. Moorland humbly started as a flower seedling nursery on a piece of leasehold land. Over time, however, it developed as primarily a vegetable seedling nursery. In line with market needs, the nursery has been expanded with modern equipment and cultivation facilities. Currently, Moorland Seedlings CC has a 20 million vegetable seedling capacity of which 7.5 million seedlings can be grown under plastic in 5 Multi-Spans. During 2016, Moorland Seedlings expanded further and a citrus nursery was started. From the outset, this expansion was very successful and has grown rapidly to the intended capacity of 600,000 trees. Market demand for quality flower seedlings was met and a wide variety of flower seedlings and bedding plants are now available at Moorland Seedlings.
